I will attentively guide you in:
A visualization about pine trees to deepen your connection to the trees and ground into the senses
Learning about Coast Salish basket traditions through visual learning and a short video
Discussion of pine needle collection and storage as you prepare the pine needles for weaving
Building basketry knowledge: learn the difference between coil and warp/weft baskets
Learning all the skills you need to make your own basket
By the end of class, you will have completed your own basket! I will provide:
An engaging and grounding learning experience, approximately 5 hours long
All supplies
Printed weaving summary for your future use
A selection of curated videos for your future reference
