I Needed an Ocean

Parched for the pour

Earth cracks thirsting for a drop

Just one drop

Of sweet, warm, lush

A drop, trickle, flow, rush

Fill to the brim

To the depths

This vessel

Until gushing, spilling.

Liquid sanctuary of

Lapping waves

Keep coming back to me.

Hold me and rock me

So that I can float

While moonlight kisses

Me to life

Cradle me in open expanse

Where there is more than enough

from here I can see

Water in the dust
