Back to My Senses
I like to run with my hair down
on forest trails
my gravity
tumbling downhill
footfall at a time
until toes
meet sand
meet sea
dipping under
with inertia
I see blue from inside out,
like the seals do
follicles that flowed
now delight in aquatic suspension.
synapses sparkle and proclaim that each moment is new
I let go of the tree tunneled paths, well worn
to embrace Other.
caressed by seaweed,
I emerge standing tall
rivers drip down my spine.
returned to my skin,
like selkie to silver
it feels right in
my body and my bones
so I don't avert my eyes
from life anymore
I changed my mind and now
the horizon opens wide for me and the setting sun
re-membering myself anew
reborn in sunlight glimmers on sea surface
I come back to my senses
