Portal

Earth portal Birth portal

unknown realms await, mortal.

“Cross me”

whispers the Beyond.

Creak to accommodate

my passage.

Allow me,

weathered garden gate,

across left ventricle through

aortic valve.

Glistening pool

I dive head first

dip through, whooshing

I am raised

to sanguine doorway

penny taste on my tongue.

Dissolve and distill,

consume me Portal.

I surrender

my essential nature

to salamander slick emergence,

new skin once more.

Perpetually

we will dance

until Death.

and even then,

blessed opening,

I have met you before.
